In February a case of Canine Rabies occurred in a village in the Sheungshui area. In spite of energetic measure the disease spread widely and eventually reached Kowloon. There were in all 14 cases, the last case occurring in Kowloon during August.
17. Sixty-four animal brains were examined by the Government Bacteriologist for evidence of Rabies with fourteen positive results.
18. Anthrax:
Two cases.
Foot and Mouth Disease:
One outbreak. The disease was of a very mild type. There were no deaths.
Glanders:
One outbreak. 7 cases.
LIVE STOCK IN THE COLONY.
19. The following numbers of Live Stock were in the Districts under the supervision of Sanitary Inspectors on 31st December, 1934:

Horses Cows Goats 200 520 11020. The above figures do not include animals kept by the Military Authorities or animals for slaughter in Government Depots. No figures are given for work or store cattle as these fluctuate greatly and would be misleading.
21. No figures are given for swine owing to the difficulty of obtaining a record of sufficient accuracy to be of any value.
