The Turbines and Pumping Plant at Bowen Road worked satisfactorily during the year and delivered an average daily supply of 103,000 gallons to the High Level District.
All engines, motors and station buildings have been kept in good order throughout the year. The work of overhauling the valves on the principal mains in the City was continued during the year, 235 being thoroughly repaired. During the year 191 ball hydrants were replaced by spring hydrants.
The quantity of water in millions of gallons supplied by meters was as follows:

New services were constructed or old ones altered, improved, repaired, or connected to the mains to the number of 8518, and 66 supplies were laid for building purposes.
The number of inspections of services carried out was 10,913. Defective services were found in 44 cases all of which were put in proper repair after the usual notices had been served.

Village Water Supplies-(a) Shau Ki Wan.-The hours of supply were restricted during the year as follows:-1st to 24th January, and 28th January to 30th April, 10 hours supply (6-11 A.M. and 4-9 P.M.). 1st May to 30th June, 6 hours supply (6-9 A.M. and 4.30-7.30 P.M.). 26th August to 8th September, 10 hours supply (6-11 A.M. and 4-9 P.M.). 9th to 20th September, 6 hours supply (6-9 A.M. and 4.30-7.30 P.M.). 21st September to 8th November, 8 hours supply (6-10 A.M. and 4-8 P.M.). 9th November to 31st December, 10 hours supply (6-11 A.M. and 4-9 P.M.). From 24th to 27th January (Chinese New Year) and from 1st July to 25th August a constant supply was given. Only minor repairs were necessary during the year.
