ABERDEEN VALLEY WATER SCHEME.
203. Preliminary and Survey Works.-This work was referred to in paragraph 271 of last year's Report. A survey of 6,150 feet long for the 2nd Section of the East Catchwater was carried out during the year. A survey for the 2nd Section of the West Catchwater was commenced during 1932 but not completed. Other small surveys including one for the main outfall nullah at Aberdeen were also executed.
204. Upper Dam.-This work was referred to in paragraphs 272 and 278 of last year's Report. A small extension to the beeching below the water cushion was the only work carried out during the year. The maintenance of the main Contract expired in March and payment of the retention money was made.
205. East Catchwater.--This work Was referred to in paragraph 274 of last year's Report. The maintenance of the 1st Section was completed in June and payment of retention money made. The survey and contracts documents for the 2nd Section were completed during the year and tenders were called for in the Government Gazette to be in in January 1933.

ABERDEEN VALLEY WATER SCHEME.
206. West Catchwater. The first section of this work was referred to in paragraph 275 of last year's Report. The work was satisfactorily completed in December. This Section is 6,200 feet in length and drains the Southern Slopes of Mount Gough. It is designed to carry the run off from 496 acres at a maximum rate of two-thirds of an inch per hour whilst over-flows are designed to discharge any excess over this figure up to a maximum of 4" of rainfall per hour. Along the outside of the Catchwater a path of a minimum width of five feet has been formed, and this has been carried over the overflows on reinforced concrete decking. The diversion of a further length of 1,600 feet of the Wanchai Gap-Aberdeen Road and also a length of 1,668 feet of the Aberdeen Old Road (to the Peak) was necessitated and this was carried out by increasing the width of the new path to a minimum of 10 feet. A survey for the 2nd Section of this Catchwater was commenced, but not completed during the year.
207. Bennetts Hill Catchwater.-This work was referred to in paragraph 276 of last year's Report. The work was carried out under the Contract for the Reconstruction of the Aberdeen Lower Dam, being commenced in April and completed in December. The Catchwater drains the Southern and Eastern Slopes of Bennetts Hill and is divided up into two Sections,
