120. Maintenance of Praya Walls and Piers. The Praya Walls and Piers were maintained in a satisfactory condition throughout the year. Repairs of some importance were carried out during the year as follows:- Head of Public Pier at Aberdeen; Hardwood piles, walings and braces of King Shan pier; Murray Pier; Sea wall, North Point; Sea wall at Shaukiwan; Strings and walings of Queen Victoria Street pier.

Minor repairs were carried out to practically all Government piers and dust boat stations during the year.

Expenditure $15,582.05

121. Maintenance of Public Cemetery. The Cemeteries were generally maintained in a satisfactory condition. The surfacing of the paths in the Colonial Cemetery with 2$\frac{1}{2}$" granolithic paving was continued.

122. Maintenance of Chinese Cemeteries. Work carried out under this head is referred to in paragraph 333 of this Report.

123. Maintenance of Public Recreation Grounds. The various grounds were maintained in good order. The use of departmental labour for the purpose of mowing grass, cleansing ditches, etc. was continued. Area "I" used by the Naval Hockey Club was levelled and returfed.
