160. Open Market at Kowloon City.-This work was referred to in paragraph 150 of last year's Report. This market was completed and handed over to the Sanitary Department early in the year.

161. Shamshuipo Market Extension.-A contract which amounted to $20,105.46 was let to Messrs. Tat Lee & Co. on 6th September. The work comprised the following:-
(a) The Construction of a New Section of Shamshuipo Market.
(b) The roofing over of the open space between the two existing markets together with the provision of fish tanks and stall slabs of reinforced concrete.
(c) The construction of a Trough Closet and Urinal providing seating accommodation for 4 men and 2 women.
Satisfactory progress was made by the end of the year.

162. Latrine and Bathhouse, Boundary Street, Shamshui-po. The structure consisted of a two-storey building which provided latrine accommodation on the Ground Floor with 50 Seats and 2 Urinals for Men and 20 Seats for Women.
The Bathing facilities on the first floor comprised 30 Cubicles for Men and 15 for Women.
A contract for this work was let to Mr. Lim Yeu on 23rd May for a sum of $27,575.15.
Progress was good and the work was nearing completion by the end of the year.

163. Sai Yu Shek Cemetery, quarters for two sextons.-A contract for a sum of $4,419.10 was let to Mr. Man Gang on 7th June for the construction of a building containing a living-room, kitchen, bath-room and latrine for each of two sextons. A tool store was also provided.
