Shan, Peak A, Long Kat, High Island, High Junk Peak & Basalt Island. These stations form a system of twenty-two triangles, the average correction for error to each triangle being 3.2". The whole work was tied in to the main triangulation of the Colony.
On the Island of Hong Kong, beacons were erected at Jardine's Look Out, Mount Butler, Hill 800, Violet Hill, Boa Vista, Red Hill, Shek O Gap and at Stanley. Observations were taken from these stations and in addition from Partridge Hill, Channel Rocks, Stanley Mound, Mount Collinson, Shek O and Wong Ma Kok, the whole completed and tied into the original triangulation with very good results.
In addition to the above, permanent cairns were erected at Tin Kau (Plover Cove), Bushy Reef, Jones Cove, Cham Chuk Wan, Table Island, Sharp Island, Hill 1356 (Station south of Lam A Village) Double Haven, Fung Head, Tai Long, Hill near Shik Hang Village, Long Harbour. These stations were temporarily fixed by the No. 2 Colonial Survey Section Royal Engineers and will eventually be connected up to main triangulation.
7. Revenue Surveys and General:-Surveys were made in detail for plans (quadruplicate) to be attached to Crown Leases of 285 lots.
The following surveys in detail were made and plotted.
