150. Open Market at Kowloon City.-This market contains 18 stalls with the usual Caretaker's rooms. Latrine accommodation with two male and a female seat, and a trough urinal have been provided as well as a kitchen for the use of the stall-holders. The Contract for this work was let to Messrs. Sang Lee & Co., on the 16th August, 1927, for the sum of $13,366.55.
Progress was very good and the work was nearing completion by the end of the year.

151. Cheung Sha Wan Market.-This market which is of a temporary nature and will contain ten stalls was constructed of steel frame-work with an Asbestos Corrugated Sheet Roof. Matshed quarters for the Caretaker were added later.
A Contract was let to Messrs. Tak Hing & Co, on 14th May, 1927, for the sum of $2,625.55, and by the end of the year the building was completed.

(a.) Roads.-The following is a brief statement of the principal works carried out under this heading:-
The undermentioned roads were macadamized, kerbed, and channelled, the footpaths being laid with granolithic paving slabs, and the necessary improvements made in front of the new buildings erected during the year.
