P.W.E. Kowloon.

141. Clearing and forming areas West of Kowloon City Road, Hok Ün, Hau Pui Loong, and Shek Shan.—This work was referred to in paragraphs 186 of the Report for 1925 and 143 of that for last year.

(a) Blue and Yellow Areas on P.W.D. Plan.—The regrading of these areas was commenced in April. By the end of the year a considerable plot of ground had been formed and several sites handed over to the owners. The progress was slackened so that the expenditure may be kept within the limit of the amount sanctioned for this work.

(b) Hau Pui Loong and Hok Un Areas.—These areas were completed by August, and an order on the Contract was subsequently given to Mr. Man Gang to complete the following further areas:

(i) Area behind the Fire Cracker Factory at Kowloon City.—The filling in was undertaken to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes. By the end of the year it was nearing completion.

(ii) A further area at Hok Un.—This area was filled in for exchange purposes. The work was nearing completion by the end of the year.
