121. Tsat Tsz Mui Quarry.-Although surveys were made and preliminary plans prepared, it was not found possible to proceed with this work.

122. Renewing the Electric wiring at Government House. This work was commenced on the 21st June and completed on 21st September. Three hundred and sixty-four light, fan, heating and bell points were rewired with lead-covered wire replacing the old V.I.R. cable in wooden casing and capping.

123. Miscellaneous Works.-The following is a brief description of the principal works carried out under this Vote:-

Central Police Station.-Alteration to the Police Armoury.

Mountain Lodge.-Construction of an Incinerator.

The Eyrie.-Erection of a wooden hut for the accommodation of Wireless Operators.

Peak School.-Erection of sunshades to windows.

Government Civil Hospital.-Installation of a ventilating system to the X-Ray developing room.

Sookunpo Nurseries.-Erection of a tool shed.

New Dust Chute Station at Centre Street. This station was erected at the request of the Sanitary Department to meet the increased demand for refuse disposal. It was constructed throughout in steel with the exception of the chute itself, which was improved and enlarged to facilitate the handling of the refuse. The work was satisfactorily completed at a cost of $492.46.

Fixing of steel plates for the testing of pollution in the Harbour.—This was satisfactorily carried out at a cost of $76.00.

Construction of a dump for surplus material at Wanchai Gap. This work, referred to in paragraph 134 of last year's Report, was continued.

Central Dust Chute Station.-The brick enclosure was demolished and the dust chute removed.
