In addition to these, the Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Company of Hong Kong provide and light 10 lamps, each having a cluster of three-100 C.P. incandescent lamps for lighting the road adjacent to their property, and the Taikoo Sugar Refining Company also provide and light seven 2,000 C.P. incandescent lamps for the roads adjacent to their property.
56. Extension of Lighting.—76 lamps were installed during the year, 50 being gas and 26 electric.
57. Maintenance of Praya Wall and Piers. The principal items executed under this heading were general repairs to Murray Pier, Keng Shan Wharf, Blake Pier and Eastern Street Pier at a cost of $1,060.17, $705.33, $516.52 and $110.22 respectively,

Repairs to Sai Wan Ho, Western Market Pier and Queen Victoria Street Pier were also effected.
58. Maintenance of Public Cemeteries.-The cemeteries were generally maintained in a satisfactory condition, numerous graves being repaired.
59. Maintenance of Chinese Cemeteries.-These cemeteries were maintained in good condition during the year.
