Connaught Road, West, junction of Western and Whitty Streets.—Removal of surplus material.

Installation of a 6 K.W. Valve Transmitter at Cape D'Aguilar W.T. Station. The apparatus was delivered to the Station in January, 1925, and was erected and brought into operation in March, 1925.

It was installed to give additional range to the Station, which was formerly approximately 400 miles by day.

Tests were carried out with H.M. Ships and satisfactory results obtained; it is now possible for the Station to be heard by ships or land stations fitted with continuous receiving gear at a distance of 1,000 miles and more according to circumstances.

Shelters. Many of these were constructed throughout the Island for the use of the Police.

Public Health & Buildings Ordinance, 1903.—Compensation & Resumptions.—This vote provided for the resumption of areas required in connection with street widening and improvement schemes, new roads, and the development of village areas under the provisions of the Public Health & Buildings Ordinance; it also provided for the resumption of I.L. 607, the Berlin Mission, required by the Government for the purpose of Police Training School and Quarters. The resumptions debited to the vote are shown on pages 42 to 45 and amounted to a total of $655,612.10.

The sum of $20,000.00 for the re-erection of buildings for the Dairy Farm, Ice and Cold Storage Company was also debited to this vote.
