Satisfactory progress was maintained until labour conditions became unsettled during the Summer months which adversely affected the work. Every endeavour was subsequently made to accelerate its completion and it is anticipated that the building itself will be finished within a few weeks of the Contract date in 1926.
By the end of the year, the whole of the brickwork has been completed, with the exception of a portion of the tower. The special plaster work and ceiling to Assembly Hall was in hand. Tiling to verandah floors and classroom walls has been completed. Doors, windows and metal casements were being hung, and grates and mantels fixed. Drawings for the various special fittings and furniture were prepared.
A few alterations and additions have been made to the original design, notably the provision of tile dados to all Classroom walls, and a granite Portico to the Main Entrance.

103. New Queen's College, Site formation at Caroline Hill. This work was referred to in paragraph 108 of last year's Report.
The formation of the road encircling the site was completed and almost the whole was surfaced with macadam.
The slopes to the different formation levels were turfed, and the area at 50.00 A.O.D. was placed at the disposal of the Navy for recreation purposes. A revised sketch scheme was prepared for the buildings.
