Senior Officers' Quarters, Leighton Hill.-Tennis courts were kept in good order generally throughout the year.
Undergrowth on large banks was cleared several times during the year.
Indian School Grounds, Sukunpo.-Trees and shrubs were regularly pruned and given such attention as they required.
The lawns on either side of the school buildings were regularly cut, weeded and rolled.
Subordinate Officers' Quarters, Breezy Point.-The remaining turfed areas were regularly cut and weeded throughout the year.
Volunteer Headquarters. Large trees adjoining the buildings were pruned and undergrowth on banks cleared.
The Privet hedge was pruned and the turfed parade ground regularly cut and weeded.
St. John's Cathedral Compound.-Rockeries were kept clear of undergrowth and small numbers of evergreen plants added.
Blue Grass on the flat space at the base of the Memorial Cross was replanted.
Plants in the rockery between Murray Parade Ground and the compound were again very badly damaged by crowds of people who assembled there; no further planting on this particular area will be undertaken until the Church Body have taken action as regards the erection of a fence.
Helena May Institute.-The grounds were kept in good order generally throughout the year. Flowering shrubs were pruned and the lawns regularly cut and weeded. A small fee is paid annually by the Institute in respect of this work.
Statue Square.-The grass plots were regularly machined, weeded and rolled. Flowering trees and shrubs were pruned and the corner flower beds restocked as required.
The Cricket Ground. The playing pitch had been under the care of this Department since it was entirely reconstructed in 1913, the cost of all upkeep being borne by the Hongkong Cricket Club.
During the month of June the pitch was entirely taken over by the Club's groundsman.
