The work of repairing the Causeway Bay Mole was completed in October at a cost of $5,672.00.
The principal items occurring and completed during 1924, were the following:
(a.) Repairs to wall below Plunkett's Road, The Peak.
(b.) Repairs to banks of Stubbs Road, The Peak.
At the close of the year (b.) was satisfactorily completed and (a.) well advanced.
A certain amount of work due to damages by the Typhoon of August, 1923, still remained to be done at the close of that year.
The principal items completed during 1924 were the following:-
Saiyingpun School,...........Floors, etc.
Leighton Hill Quarters, "Tanderagee".
Mountain Lodge,
..Approach paths.
.Garden walls.
Roofs to servants quarters, plate-glass windows and frames verandah, covered-way to servants quarters, etc., etc.
Aberdeen Police Station,......Repairs to damage at rear, and fences to approach paths.
62. Stores Depreciation. The adjustment of Store Values and re-conditioning of old stores have been met from this Vote amounting to $14,799.98.
The following sums were credited to the Vote: $4,491.89 being rebate on freight charges in connection with stores purchased in England through the Crown Agents; $1,850.01 being the value of stores returned which had been issued prior to 1924; $8,409.88 being the value of defective wire replaced by the Manufacturers.
The result showed a net expenditure on the Vote of $48.20.
63. Boundary Stones.-A statement of the boundary stones fixed will be found in paragraph 16 of this Report.
