The material was deposited on the sites of the Praya East, Laichikok, Kowloon City, North Point and Kennedy Town Reclamations.
The Dredger was put on the slip and thoroughly overhauled, and defective parts of the hull and machinery made good to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor at a cost of $1,593.50.
A sum of $1,045.00 was received for the hiring out of the Dredger.
61. Typhoon and Rainstorm Damages.-The heavy rains, particularly during the months of May to September, caused numerous landslips, and badly scoured the macadamised road surfacing not treated with asphaltum.
I.Ls. 2237 and 2238 Bowen Road: The road adjoining these lots was breached in places as a result of the heavy rains and collapse of the retaining walls above, necessitating its reconstruction.
Retaining wall at Pokfulam Road :-A landslip occurred on this road, endangering the Elliot Filter Beds and the Government Quarters above, involving the construction of a large retaining wall.
Retaining and toe walls to support the benching, where landslips occurred, were found necessary at the following places :-
Below Findlay Road,
Road from Repulse Bay to Wongneichong, Stubbs Road,
Road above Conduit and Hatton Roads,
Road from Broadwood Road to Wongneichong.
Large landslips occurred on the following roads :-
Belchers Street,
Taitam Road,
Deep Water Bay Road, Black's Link,
Little Hongkong Village Road,
Lane at rear of Monmouth Path, Glenealy,
Mount Davis Road,
Hatton Road, junction of Conduit Road,
Craigmin Road,
Tai Hang Motor Road,
Road from Broadwood Road to Wongneichong,
Stubbs Road.
A certain amount of work occasioned by the Typhoon of August, 1923, still remained to be done at the close of that year:---
