The expenditure below was incurred in connection with the installation and working of the Ingersoll Rand Co.'s compressed air drilling plant which was erected near the Tsat Tsz Mui Quarry.

131. Furniture for Government Offices and Quarters.-During the year, 38 full sets of furniture for Quarters were supplied. This was necessitated by the completion of new Quarters, the re-entry of Quarters occupied by the Naval Authorities, and the adaptation of a portion of Beaconsfield Arcade as Quarters, etc. In addition, various single items were supplied to Quarters, and a large number of articles of office furniture was supplied to the various Government Departments together with desks and other articles of School equipment for the Education Department.
