The attached graphs show the number of animals slaughtered in all slaughter houses during the past ten years. The amount of increase during the past year has been limited by the high cost of live stock.
GRASS SUPPLY FOR GOVERNMENT BULLOCKS.
The area under cultivation remains the same as last year. The amount cut at Kennedy Town was 244 tons 16 cwt and at Kowloon 247 tons 17 cwt. A considerable amount of this was supplied to the Medical Department to feed ponies used for the production of Antimeningococcic serum and no charge was made for this.
EXPORT OF LARD, DRIED MEATS ETC., TO THE PHILIPPINES AND CANADA.

INFECTIOUS DISEASE IN THE COLONY.
RABIES.
Dogs remain unmuzzled. During the year 45 dogs were detained under observation for Rabies against 59 in 1922. Five cases found to be Rabies against 15 in 1922. Except for 1 still under observation, the remainder were returned to owners or destroyed at owners' request.
