170. Enlarging mains to improve the distribution system in Kowloon.-A considerable amount of work was carried out under this heading including the following:

(a.) The 6" Main along Kowloon City Road was extended for a distance of 1,100 feet.

(b.) A 6" Main, 800 lin. feet in length, was laid along Jordan Road between Nathan Road and Shanghai Street.

(c.) A new 3" Main was laid along Nelson Street from Shanghai Street to lots on the East side of Coronation Road.

(d.) The Main along Kimberley Road from Austin Road to Knutsford Terrace was replaced by a 5″ main about 1,700 lin. feet in length.

(e.) The 3" Main in Hankow Road between Haiphong and Peking Roads was replaced by a 4″ Main.

(f.) The 4″ Main in Haiphong Road between Nathan and Canton Roads was replaced by a 6″ Main, 1,100 feet long.

(g.) The 3" Main in Peking Road was replaced by a 4″ Main, 1,000 feet long.

(h.) A further 2,000 lin. feet of 12" pipe was laid along the New Boundary Road between the Railway and Matauwei. This will be the new supply main to Kowloon City.

(i.) At Laichikok, the 8" Main from the Service Reservoir to the Water Boat Station was replaced by one of 12", 450 feet in length.
