STAFF.
Inspector W. Old was in charge at Ma Tau Kok until relieved on April 1st by Inspector R. Duncan from leave. Inspector Duncan in charge until end of year. At Kennedy Town Inspector Knight has been in charge throughout the year assisted by Inspector R. McEwen up to January 6th and thereafter by Inspector R. Hudson from leave. Overseer Johannsan was in charge of Central and Western Markets throughout the year.
GENERAL STATISTICS
Cattle. The total number of cattle admitted to Government Depôts for the year was 55,556 against 52,877 in 1920. In Kennedy Town 46,247 were admitted against 45,082 in 1920. In Ma Tau Kok 9,307 were admitted against 7,795 in 1920. These are the only slaughter houses for cattle in the Colony.
Pigs. The total number of pigs admitted to Kennedy Town was 292,184 against 269,215 in 1920. This includes 40,751 admitted to Kennedy Town and removed to other slaughter houses in the Colony, or exported from the Colony.
Sheep and Goats. Total number admitted to Kennedy Town was 30,732 against 29,105 in 1920. As in the case of pigs this includes 11,671 admitted to Kennedy Town and afterwards exported or removed to Ma Tau Kok.
DISEASE IN DEPÔTS.
Rinderpest. During the year 21 cases of Rinderpest occurred. These were imported from West River districts.
Tuberculosis. 6 cases among European cows and one pig were found against 7 cases in 1920. No cases among Chinese stock. In addition to above 21 cattle were condemned as unfit for food on account of various diseases. 23 sheep died or were condemned on account of pneumonia, exhaustion, etc. 56 pigs were condemned on account of swine fever, exhaustion, etc.

The carcases destroyed in the Crematorium were:
