Transmits copy of No. 38; presumes the Hotchkiss battery referred to in Nos. 17 and 22 is the same as that offered through himself,

Conveys particulars respecting the com- position of the further coutingent of two companies of Mounted Infantry and unachine gun detachment, which will sail about January 15.
