Concurs in the proposal to pay in respect of each student an honorarium of £3 per annum to the person who may be appointed Director.
Favours the proposal for the appoint- ment of a Director, provided it is possible for the Director to exercise supervision over scholars at the various institutions throughout the country.
Transmits copies of the Scholarship Law, 1901, and states circumstances con- nected with the introduction of the messure. Encloses report of the Select Committee and newspaper reports of debates. Proposes to include the amount considered neces- sary for the remuneration of a Direc- tor of Students, in the Estimates of the next financial year, but considers that the cost of medical attendance should be borne by the holder of the Scholarship.
Transmits, with remarks, copies of regu- lations framed by the Court of Policy on the lines of the Report of the Committee on Education submitted in No. 7.
Submits, in reply to No. 20, Resolution passed by the College Council on June 4, and considers it; desirable in the circumstances that the number of scholarships should not be reduced for the present further than has already been recommended.
Transmits copy of the Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee of Superior Instruction in the question of the appointment of a Director.
