The Order for condemnation was appealed against, and after pre- liminary hearing by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, the appeal was settled on the basis of the taking of the ship being regarded as a case of re- capture. The ship was accord- ingly released against the pay- ment of prize salvage.
A recent Press report indicates condemnation of these vessels, but there is no confirmation
up to the present from an official source.
