CROWN AGENTS to COLONIAL OFFICE.

Whitehall Gardens, London, S. W., 5th May, 1915. WITH reference to our letter of the 27th March,* regarding a payment to the British Red Cross Society on behalf of the Government of Trinidad, I have the honour to report that we have been requested by the Colonial Government to pay to the Society a further sum of £100 in respect of an amount deposited by the local branch of the Society on the 17th April, and that we are making payment accordingly.

AN additional sum of £700 has been collected by the Trinidad branch of the Red Cross Society and has been paid by the Crown Agents for the Colonies to the British Red Cross Society.

JAMAICA. MEMORANDUM.
THE sum voted by the Legislative Council of Jamaica to cover the cost of the gift of sugar made by that Colony to the Mother Country is £50,000. The Colony also defrays the cost of freight on this sugar.
Apart from this vote by the Colonial Legislature, the subscriptions collected in the Colony for the various funds which are being raised in the United Kingdom in connexion with the war have amounted in the aggregate to £20,971 13s. 2d., of which the greater part has already been remitted to this country. Out of the balance remaining in the Central War Fund in the Colony, the sum of £3,000 has been allotted to the British Red Cross Society for the purchase of a fleet of six motor ambulances.
