States that, while the Greek Government adhere to their decision not to take part in the proposed International Convention, they will gladly receive any communication in regard to the principal points of the prospective International Agreement.

Transmits a copy of a letter from the Colonial Secretary reporting that there is no legislation on the subject and that none appears necessary as there are no plumage birds in the Colony, but noting the fact that the exportation or sale of willow grouse or partridge is prohibited.

Transmits a copy of a memorandum from the Prime Minister stating that the export of the skin and feathers of any native game without the consent of the Minister of Internal Affairs is now prohibited and that the Solicitor- General is being asked to advise the whether any amendment in existing law is required to meet the lesire of His Majesty's Government; if so, a Bill will be introduced this Session.

States that he has been informed privately that the Danish Government regret that they do not see their way to reconsider their previous decision not to enter into the International Convention.

Transmits a copy of the circular enclosed in No. 16; hopes to learn that his Government are in sympathy with the proposals for an International Conference; and enquires whether they desire to send representatives to any such Conference.

Forwards a copy of a minute from Ministers reporting that no replies have yet been received from the Cape of Good Hope and the Transvaal Provinces, that Natal favours the in- troduction of an Ordinance, and that the Orange Free State will deal with the matter in a Game Preservation! Ordinance which will probably be introduced next session.

Forwards, with reference to No. 23, a copy of a minute from Ministers re- porting as to the existing legislation in the Cape of Good Hope respecting the protection of bird life, stating that the Administration of the Province will consider to what extent co-opera- tion with His Majesty's Government can be secured by amendment of these measures, and that the Administration of the Transvaal will take action with a view to the better protection of wild bird life there.
