I HAVE laid your letter before the Queen, and am commanded to ask you to kindly convey to the Members of the Visual Instruction Committee the expression of Her Majesty's warm thanks for the copy of the book "Sea Road to the East," which they have been good enough to send for the Queen's acceptance.
Her Majesty is greatly interested to hear that the Committee are likely to issue shortly a book of lectures on Australasia.
There will be no objection to the publishers of the book announcing that the Queen has been graciously pleased to accept a copy of the book on the "Sea Road to the East."

WITH reference to Sir Hartmann Just's letter of 5th October, 1911, No. 31508,* I am directed by the Secretary of State for India to forward copy of a letter which has been received from the Secretary to the Government of India, and to request that, with Mr. Secretary Harcourt's permission, twelve further copies of each of the publications mentioned therein may be supplied to this Office for trans- mission to the Government of Madras, and that an additional copy of each may also be supplied for use in this Office.
I am further to request, with reference to Mr. Read's letter of 6th June, 1912, No. 38135,† that a second copy of the book entitled "The Sea Road to the East" may be supplied, and that the cost of all these additional copies may be debited to Indian revenues.

I shall be glad, therefore, if you will kindly arrange for this picture to be completed in the manner suggested in your letter of 9th March, 1912.**
The seven pictures are being returned to you by bearer.
I might add that, owing to the School of Photo Engraving and Lithography now being in the process of removing to new premises, the work will not be put in hand until the beginning of the Autumn Session.
