20. (1) Where an officer who has been transferred from other public service retires from the service of the Colony in con- sequence of abolition of office or injury, such an addition may be made to pension as would have been made under Regulation 11 or Regulation 12, as the case may be, if his whole service had been in the Colony; but the whole of such addition shall be charged on the revenues of the Colony.
(2) An officer so retired whose length of service is not such as to qualify him for a pension under Regulation 17 may never- theless be granted in lieu of a gratuity a pension computed according to the principles laid down in Regulation 17, together with such addition as may be awarded to him under the preceding part of this Regulation.
21. Where an officer who has been trans- ferred to or from the service of the Colony
from or to other public service might, if his service had been wholly in the Colony, have been allowed an addition to his pension under Regulation 13, an addition may be made to the pension computed under Regu- lation 17 which shall bear the same pro- portion to the first mentioned addition as the total amount of the pensionable emolu- ments received by him in respect of service in the Colony in offices marked with an asterisk in Regulation 13 bears to the total amount of the pensionable emoluments received by him in respect of service in such offices and in respect of similar offices in other public service, and such addition shall be charged on the revenues of the Colony.
[21A. (1) If any officer to whom a pension has been granted under the Ordinance, or under any previous law or regulations, is, whether before or after the commencement of the Ordinance, appointed to another office in other public service and subse- quently retires in circumstances in which he may be granted a pension, the Governor in Council may, with the approval of the Secretary of State, substitute for the pension previously granted to him a pension com- puted as if the periods of service had been continuous.
(2) If any officer to whom a pension bas been granted in respect of other public
