EXTRACT from the Minutes of a Meeting of the Legislative Council on the 10th

September, 1906.

The Acting Colonial Secretary moved the following resolution as amended:-

"That with reference to the Secretary of State's circular despatch of the 31st July, 1906 (Council Paper, No. 112, of 1906), this Council approves the expenditure of a sum not exceeding £250 per annum for a term of five years, being the amount of the contribution from this Colony towards the expenses in connection with the development and extension of the important work carried on by the Scientific and Technical Department of the Imperial Institute."

Seconded by the Director of Public Works.

Mr. Fenwick moved as an amendment that the amount of the contribution from this Colony be placed at the sum of £100 per annum for a term of five years.

Seconded by Mr. Adam Smith.

The amendment was put to the vote and carried, the Council dividing as follows:-
