We are honoured with your Lordship's commands, signified to us in Sir F. R. Sandford's letter of the 18th instant, stating that he was directed by your Lordship to No. 20. transmit to us an accompanying copy of a Despatch from the Lieutenant-Governor of 9 Nov. 1869. Natal, forwarding two petitions from the Bishop of Natal for presentation to the Queen with reference to acts of the Bishop of Cape Town,

Sir F. B. Sandford was pleased further to annex a copy of the reply which your Lordship proposed to return to the Lieutenant-Governor; and he was to request that we would favour your Lordship with our opinion whether there was any objection to the proposed answer.
