holding it out to another, and the matter must be considered, and must be treated as a whole. I have heard now the statement which you have been good enough to make to me, and I shall be glad to have it in writing so that I may consider it carefully, and I shall compare it with the statements which were made to me a few days ago; and I shall hope that in the end I may arrive at a conclusion which I do not know whether it will be satisfactory to all parties, but which will be the nearest approach to what I consider myself to be just and for, the interests of the Island.
