Transmite extract from letter from the Commodore at Hong Kong reporting that the crew of the "Burni" remain in H.M.S. "Tamar" but will be trans- ferred to the civil authorities on September 15th.

Transmita correspondence with the Foreign Office us to the disposal of the arms surrendered by the crew; asks whether there is any objection to the arms being kept by the Colonial Authorities at Hong Kong.

Transmite copy of an Ordinance making provision for the internment of refugees belonging to Russian and Japanese forces, with report thereon, together with a memorandum on arrangements to be made.

Communicates, and agrees to, Admiralty proposal that the surrendered arms should be stored at Hong Kong by the Colonial Government till the end of the war.

Transmits copy of a despatch to Sir C. MacDonald communicating a state- ment made to the Japanese Minister that it was intended to intern the officers and crew until the end of the
