Forwards copies of resolutions passed by the Council of Government recom- mending a loan of Rs.3,000,000 to the agricultural interest, and by the Chamber of Agriculture with debates thereon; and of communications from the Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce and Banks of Mauritius approving of the proposed loan.

Submits his views on the general position of the sugar industry, and forwards minute by the Colonial Secretary.

Requests that the Crown Agents may be instructed to place, by telegraphic transfer, Rs.800,000 in the National Bank of India to meet drafts drawn by the Mauritius Government in favour of banks named.
