Dear Hunt,

Please refer to your letter $/55 of 30th May, and to my reply of the 23rd June, about the entry of Pakistanis into Hong rong. I enclose a copy of a saving telegram .192 dated 24th November from the Colonial Office to the Governor of Hong Kong, The Governor of Hong Kong has now agreed to the suggestion made therein that a definite nderstanding should be arrived at with the Government of Pakistan in the matter of screening. The Colonial Office would be grateful therefore if you would approach the Government of Pakistan in the matter. The categories of persons to be admitted to Hong Kong without prior reference subject to security screening are set out in (2) Hong Kong savingram 163 to your Office of the 3rd August,

(see also the Governor's savingram 83 top secret, to you of yth say).

Yours sincerely,
