Please refer to your telegrams X.1116 and X.1222 of 17th June and 6th July, respectively, regarding the entry of Indians into /:iong

Hong Kong. I enclose a copy of a telegram ko.192 Saving from the Colonial Office to ong Kong dated 24th November. The Governor of long song has now agreed with the suggestion made therein that there should be a definite agreement with the Government of India in the matter of screening, and the Colonial üffice would be grateful, therefore, if you would now approach the Government of India. The categories of Indians admissible to Hong Kong without prior reference subject to screening are set out in telegram 113 of the 20th December, 1948, from Hong dong to the Colorial Office, a copy of which was sent by the Governor to your Office in his savingram No.84 Top Secret, of theth Kay.

You can take it that the last two paragraphs of your telegram 1.1116 of the 17th June are agreed to.
