BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Urban Council Short title. (Transitional Provisions) Ordinance, 1946.

(1) Notwithstanding any vacancies occurring in Constitution the Council by reason of the failure from any cause whatso- of Council. ever to hold elections of or to elect both or either of the additional members of the Council referred to in sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the Principal Ordinance the Council shall be deemed to be legally constituted without either of such members until any vacancy arising because of any such failure has been lawfully filled.

(2) The preceding sub-section shall cease to have effect after one year from the date of the coming into operation of this Ordinance.
