Dear Keith Hardy,
Thank you for your letter of 13th October.
It is true that there are big schemes afoot for increasing broadcasting in Africa, and there are likely to be openings there for well qualified engineers. I have consulted Colonial Service Department on what your friend should do, and they say they would advise him to put in his application in the normal way through the Governor, stating the he would like a transfer to Africa.
Oliver Whitley left the Colonial Office some time ago, but I have passed on your good wishes to him at Oxford Street, where he is now working.
I think you should know that Wolferstan telephoned me some time ago on the question of deductions from payments by the Corporation to yourself as a Correspondent. I understand from Wolferston that you have told him that all is now well, and that it is in order for the Corporation to resume payments to you. I hope that this is indeed so, and should be grateful if you will confirm how this matter stands when you next write to me.
Yours sincerely,
Fro
