Dear Millar,
REGISTRY
Thank you very much for your letter of October 21st. It was our Chief Engineer whom I mentioned in my earlier letter, Mr. W.A.M. Ramsbotham. Since I wrote to you, he has approached the Hong Kong Government's Establishment Officer, K. S. Kinghorne, who is, I believe, raising the matter with you. Ramsbotham is probably the best engineer we have here, and he now seems quite set on the idea of working for a Colonial Government, preferably in Africa, rather than for Cable & Wireless, Ltd.
As to your remark about Wolferstan and
the question
lof fees, the local Government agreed that I can draw fees up 'to £15 a month. The form is that the money will be paid direct to me, and you will be informed simultaneously by the Corporation,
It seems and will pass the information to the local Treasury. rather a roundabout method, but the Hong Kong Government's methods usually follow this pattern! I have asked the Corporation to credit any fees in excess of £15 for one month to the following month.
