The broadcasting coverage of the Far Sast, including China,

is the function of the B,B,C's station in Singapore, not of

Radio Hong Kong, and it is to the Singapore Station, not to

Hong Kong, that the necessary high frequencies have been

allotted for the purpose by recent international agreement,

As I recently informed ny Honourable Friend the Member

for Hornsey, the possibility is being examined of an increase

Hornsey,

in power for Hong Kong's medium frequency broadcasting service.

Such an increase might incidentally render it audible in parts

of South China, but its primary concern is, and must be, to

give an effective service in the Colony.
