As you will have seen from Foreign office telegram No. 859 to Nanking repeated to Hong Kong, Foreign Office an further examination is not now disposed to proceed with suggestions for broadcasting from Hong Kong to China. thought that considerable expenditure of time and money necessary could not be justified in view of risk of jamming by Chinese which could comparatively easily render transmissions from Hong Kong ineffective. The project can therefore be regarded as having been dropped.
