NEW CHINA NEWS AGENCY

As you are no doubt aware this Agency stands in the same

relation to the Chinese Government as Tass to the Soviet Government. There are branches operating overtly in London and Hong Kong and the Agency is not subjected to any special restrictions by us in either place. We consider that its material is worth watching

as it supplies direct evidence of official Chinese Communist line. You should also know that this Agency acts as a link and post box for international Communist circles and such bodies as the

International Union of Students, the World Federation of Democratic Youth, and their counterparts in Communist China.
