Nos. 27 and 28 are self-explanatory and can, I think, be put by.
It remains to issue formally the new instructions to Sir A. Grantham, and I submit a draft conson. with this object, which I pass through Mr. Seel.
It will be seen that a blank has been left at "X" in the draft and in the instructions, as Captain Evershed tells me that the final designation of Major-General Festing's appointment has not yet been settled and, in fact, they have not yet begun to get down to draping definite instructions to Major-General Festing, who will not leave this country until the 25th June. There is no immediate hurry, therefore, to send these instructions, and I suggest that we should defer doing so for a week, when the actual designation of Major-General Festing's appointment will probably have been settled.
