Reinforcement of Hong Kong:
Movements of R.A.F.
As indicated in my telegram under reference, need to reinforce Hong Kong without at same time unnecessarily reducing
forces in Malaya required for current operations make it
necessary to take urgent decision to transfer remainder of
No. 45 Light Bomber Squadron from Ceylon to Malaya. It should
be understood that this is temporary arrangement and does not
of course affect our long term plans for basing elements of
R.A.F. on Ceylon. Position will be reviewed as situation
becomes clearer.

No. 205 Flying Boat Squadron is not, repeat not, being
moved from Ceylon.
