CRGANISATION OF HADQUARTER IN THE FIELD
Paro 27. CONFIDENTIAL
IX
lesson - Org and Administration:
The Crg and administration of all HQs required a great deal of attention. In order to function efficiently in the field it is essential that your HQ is "laid out" correctly. This recuires careful planning then practise, take it in easy stages. Lay out the HQ on lat ground thin progress, but the pattern must be the same. Headquarters ust get into the habit of making themselves comfortable. The office here one is going to work or sleep must be as peaceful and far from noise as possible. Rest is very essential. Sic (ffice should be one of the first places a visitor to a HQ comes upon. It is not desirable to have Rs, etc., wandering through the HQ 100 ing for the Sig Office. The BM and Brig should be the most isolated, one cannot think clearly or produce good work, if there is continuous interruption und people coffee-housing round about. Feeding and sleeping quarters must be as com- fortable as the situation permits. If there is any chance of an HQ being split either into two or three parts, each must be completely self supporting (say for 24 hrs), orn tpt, bedding, maps, equipment, rations, bodies. This also needs careful planning and thought.
Ede and Ens must get down to this planning of layout and working of HQ at once.
