(2) Invited the Colonial Office to represent

their views to the Secretary of State for Colonial Affairs, recommending that he should approach the Prime Minister for permission for the Director General of the Security Service to visit Hong Kong.

(3) Subject to the Prime Minister's approval,

invited the Colonial Office and the Director General of the Security Servico, in

consultation, to make the necessary arrangements accordingly.

(4) agreed to defer consideration of the

establishment of an experienced Intelligence Officer on the staff of the Commander,

British Forces, Hong Kong, until after the Commander had had an opportunity of considering the organisation which he required.

(5) Invited the War office to inform the

Commander of the British Forces, Hong Kong, of their views as expressed in discussion,
