do you know to what account it is credited ? 1918
It is under one heading. There is only one adcount, the
Colonial Government account.
I am not speaking of that. I am speaking
The Treasury would be able to tell you the amount of
money under that particular heading.
14.909
Doesnt it appear as a separate entry in the financial 14910
report of the year ?
To the best of my knowledge, it does. That is (pointing)
the 70 cents that Mr Hooper spoke about just now. It is
always entered under the heading "deposits not
available”.
Do you always understand when you make an entry imder lugi
"deposits not available” that that is a fine 7

Why dont you say straight away it is a fine ?
Because it is not re-cano. The Government cant use that
money. For instance, a contractor is fined sometimes, for not carrying out his work, but that is entered up and added on to the revesus of the Governsent, but this amount of fines from the Inspectors is entered up under this separata heading, and the Government cannot avail
themselves of it.
Do you remember the case of the 29th of last month, of Senior Inspector Conolly being reported for assamit ?
No, I dont remember that.
Dont you know of any fines against Officers !
