and Dr Pearse who are in the Department.
I go further and say that the Chairman cannot rule any brother Commissioner out of order for any question he may put. The Commission, the Attorney General sayı, is composed of different people representing different interest, the same as all Commissions at home. One Commissioner does not agree with another. They are chosen from all parties to call whom they like. Our Commission says that the Commission may call any witnesses they like, or any Member of the Commission may call whom he likes, and may examine them, and the
Chairman cannot rule a question by a brother
Commissioner out of order. So, under these circumstances
- Dr Bell has gone, and I dont press the thing in
+
regard to that but it may arise in connection with
other officers, whom I may examine very freely about their superiors, and I thought it well to call your attention to it today, so that before our next Meeting, if you said that you still hold to that position, and
you feel bound by it, of course the only thing I can do
is to address the Governor.
Of course, I shall address the Governor. If the
Governor tells me I am wrong, I shall be bound by his
decision.
Then I will address the Governor, too.
I shall only go privately. I shall say the question has been raised. He has appointed the Commission, and if
he tells me "oertainly you must force an answer from
any man however reluctant he may be to answer" then
If a witness declines to answer the question ? He rather hesitated because he`did not wish to speak
of his chist.
