were and many matters of that sort which were not at all

clear. The Ordinance would have to be amended to make that

clear. The Governor is quite prepared that we should make

suggestions as to the amending of the Ordinance but he

suggests more with regard to the wording of the Ordinance and not with regard to the modification of the Sanitary

measures.

Shelton Hooper:- If we can draft an Ordinance to put the sanitation of the

Colony on different lines he might consider it.

The Chairman :- With regard to the Rev Fong and Nr Osborne Shelton Hooper:- We are inquiring into the administration and we have taken

I must give some reply to Rev Mr Fong and to Mr Osborne. I

shall tell him that we shall be very glad to hear him with

regard to any real change in the policy of the Ordinance.

The probability is that we shall be very loath to make any

alteration at all and it is for him to go to the Legislative

Council right away. Mr Osborne will be a very useful witness

to call.
