When I came to Hongkong I came with a company of Royal Engin -eers from home. I purchased my discharge and joined the Hongkong Police. I transferred from the Hongkong Police to

the Sanitary Department.

I should think about twelve months; I could not exactly say.

Then what did you do after that ?

I transferred to No 4 District. I was there for a month and

another Inspector who was at No 9 District, Inspector Firth

was anxious to get up to one of the central districts and

asked if I would change with him.
