I am to infuru, that at their meeting of 17th April, the Chiefs of Staff approved a report by the Joint řipaning staff amamining the arrangements to be made for the command of thể three services in Hong Long after the return of sivil government. Jelmial Office has concurred in the arrangementa contained in the repert.
In accordance with the recom undations in the report the following organisation of command, which is intended to meet conditions existing in Hong Kong at the present time, is, therefore, to be instituted,
In view of the appointment of a Civil Governor and of the consequent reduced steŝum of the lossl command in Hong Kong this com:ared will be no longer directly rempmaible to the ŭhiefs of staff for the defence of the Jelmy and the individual services in Hong Kong will be responsible separately to their own Kinistries in London. Tais responsibility will be exercised through Jommander-in-Uhief, Britisk Fasirie /lest, Allied Lind Jarees, south Kast asia më sip Jommand south Kast Asia as appropriate, the last two
