SECRET

Dear Colonel,

Downing Street,

8.W.1.

2nd January, 1947.

102

Will you please refer to Major General Sugden's letter to Sir George Gater of the 9th of December (M.0.8/DO/521) regarding the proposal to raise a gendarmerie for service in Hong Kong.

The enclosed copies of a draft savingram to the Governor might form the possible basis for a discussion which we suggest should take place in our Conference Room at 5 p.m. on Monday, 15th January.

Would you be good enough to let me know whether this time and date are suitable for you and also how many people will be coming from the War Office? My extension number is 316.

You's Sincerely

BD. EDMONDS -

LIEUTENANT-COLONEL 0.8. NANGLE.
