FUTURE FLANS.
The military plan is therefore based on the assumption that a force of one division, loss ane Brigade Group, supported by Naval and Air Forces, will be available.

DISPOSITION OF FIGHTING TROOPS.

The broad dispositions of this force will be as follows:
One Infantry Brigado Group plus Divisional RECCE Regiment
and Divisional nachin -gun battalion will be located in the New Territories. This Brigade Group will be responsible for controlling the Frontier and New Territories, excluding Kowloon, and will be ready at all times to be used offensively against any invaders.
One Infantry Brigade roup less one Battalion will be rosponsible for the defence of Kowloon.
One Battalion of the above Brigade Group to be in reserve on the Island and prepared to assist the Divisional Defence Battalion in maintaining law and order in Hong Kong in the avent of civil disturbances.
The Divisional Defence Battalion to be responsible for the maintainance of law and order in Hong Kong.
Either
A requirement exists for the Royal Navy to be able to lift up to one Brigade for a short soa-borne expedition. Brigade being used.
